Set is a card game of a different kind. The entire game is comprised of trying to find sets of three cards that are all similar or all the same for four different characteristics. It sounds easy, but can be quite challenging.

Set has won all sorts of awards, and is an excellent example of pattern recognition and systemic thinking. It’s not all logic, however: intuitive thinkers are often very good at this game. This reviewer’s experience is that intuitive thinkers are often quicker at finding sets, while logical thinkers are better at finding difficult sets. This game seems to make people use both sides of their brain – the logical and intuitive.

Highly recommended for all ages and stages, this game usually takes 30 to 45 minutes to play, though it can be stopped at any place.
